Connie is a Licensed Master Social Worker working toward clinical licensure. She graduated from Barclay College, Summa Cum Laude with an undergraduate degree in Psychology/Family Counseling, and received her masters degree at Newman University. She has lived in this area 50 years and, along with her husband, raised her two sons here.
Connie's passion is families. Her desire is to see families strengthened through insight, education and therapy as needed. In working with married couples, Connie uses the Biblical based model of Love and Respect as taught by Dr. Emerson and Sarah Eggerichs. She uses proven methods to structure the counseling sessions to educate the clients.
With a background in play therapy, Connie is extensively trained to work with children. Among other forms of therapy she uses psycho-education, motivational interviewing and sandtray to work with adolescents. She primarily uses Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy and pyscho-education when working with individual adults.
Connie's experience includes helping individuals with depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, loss and grief, and parenting issues. Previous volunteer positions include Catholic Charities Harbor House - a facility designed to help victims of domestic violence begin a new life free from abusive relationships.
Although Connie has a life-long relationship with Jesus Christ and is willing to discuss her faith with clients, she attempts to provide services appropriate for the clients immediate and current needs and meet them where they are in their journey.
